An artificial cross between Gamaret and Bronner, Divico was obtained in 1996 at the Agroscope research centre in Pully (Switzerland) in order to create a multi-resistant grape variety to combat more ecologically mildew, powdery mildew and grey rot. Named in honour of a legendary Swiss leader, Divico drastically reduces the use of phytosanitary products. Late maturing like Gamaret, Divico produces wines very rich in colour and tannins. It has been available from vineyard nurseries since 2015.
