At the heart of the harvest - the Swiss Grape Harvest Day

Would you like to help a winegrower with the grape harvest? Have you always wanted to know what steps are necessary on the way from the vineyard to the wine cellar?

The annual event ‘At the heart of the harvest’ takes place in September, when the grapes in the Swiss vineyards are ready for the barrel. The national event offers you the opportunity to experience the grape harvest up close and immerse yourself in the world of winegrowers.

For half a day, you can actively work in the vines in the various wine regions of Switzerland and learn more about the exciting world of wine production. Equipped with a pair of pruning shears and under the expert guidance of a winegrower, you will learn what is important during the grape harvest.

What you can expect:

  • Introduction to grape harvesting know-how: learn the basics of grape harvesting from experienced winegrowers.

  • Active grape harvest in the vines: Spend time harvesting grapes and experience the process up close.

  • Insights into winemaking: Get an introduction to the various stages of wine production.

  • Wine cellar tour and tasting: Visit the wine cellar and taste exquisite wines.

  • Regional meal together: Enjoy a delicious meal with other participants and winemakers, including a glass of wine.

Each participant will receive the necessary equipment for the day as well as some great souvenirs from Swiss Wine.
