A Swiss Wine Night at the London Embassy

London, November 25th, 2021. The Swiss Embassy and 67 Pall Mall have put together an event celebrating the wines of Switzerland. 

67 Pall Mall, the world-famous wine club in London, opened its first overseas location in Verbier at the end of 2021 (www.67pallmall.com/verbier/). In celebration of the launch, Grant Ashton (Club founder) and His Excellency Markus Leitner (Swiss Ambassador to the UK) hosted a special wine tasting at the Swiss Embassy in London. They are pictured from right to left with Simon Hardy DipWSET (Swiss Wine Ambassador at 67 Pall Mall), who helped to organise this most extensive tasting of Swiss wines in the UK since before the pandemic. 

80 specially invited guests and journalists had the opportunity to sample a selection of 60 wines from 22 producers, including several wines of La Mémoire des Vins Suisses (www.memoire.wine). This association of producers and experts was created in 2002 with the aim of growing the awareness and reputation of age-worthy Swiss fine wines both in Switzerland and internationally. On the wine list at 67 Pall Mall Verbier Switzerland accounts for one third of the 3’000 references, of which all 57 wines of La Mémoire.
