Aurélien Blanc is the best sommelier of Switzerland in 2018

This trophy rewards the winners of the biennial sommelier contest organized by the Swiss Association of Professional Sommeliers which opens the door to the European and world competitions of the profession. To date, Paolo Basso is the only Swiss to have won the envied title of Best Sommelier of the World, in 2013.

 

This year the Best Sommelier of Switzerland is:

  1. Aurélien Blanc, Pavillon Baur Restaurant by the lake, Zürich
  2. Fabien Mène, Glion Institute of higher education, Glion / Montreux
  3. Michael Jenni, Gasthof Frohberg, Rapperswil - Jona

 

The winner Aurélien Blanc has received the Swiss Wine Promotion trophy.

The award ceremony took place in the presence of Ignazio Cassis our Federal Councilor.
