Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2021: results

The results of the 28th Concours Mondial have now been released. Although the pandemic continues and organising large-scale events remains challenging, the competition has chosen to reinvent itself in the interests of the wine industry, whilst at the same time maintaining its impeccable standards. Over nine days, more than 300 international judges took turns to taste the wines.

At this year’s Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Luxembourg from June 17 to 27, a total 10,000 wines were entered by 46 producer countries.

Sélection des vins de Neuchâtel, les lauréats

RESULTATS DE LA SELECTION DES VINS DE NEUCHÂTEL LE DOMAINE GRISONI, REMPORTE LE PRIX "AMBASSADEUR" !

La dégustation de la Sélection des Vins de Neuchâtel a eu lieu du 15 au 17 juin 2021 au Château de Boudry. Cette année, 278 vins de 36 vignerons du vignoble neuchâtelois ont été proposés à un jury professionnel. Le Domaine Grisoni à Cressier se voit auréolé du prix d'Ambassadeur des vins de Neuchâtel pour la qualité de l'ensemble des vins qu'il a présenté à ce concours.

Virtual 2020 Awards Ceremony from the OIV

On Thursday evening, the International Organisation of Vine and Wine presented the outstanding award winners of the 2020 Edition of the OIV Awards. The laureates: authors, website creators and publishing houses presented their work rewarded by the Jury which granted a total of 19 Prizes and 10 Special Mentions to 26 books and 3 websites.

Websites make a significant entry in the OIV Awards due to the quality of the publications awarded.

Grand Prix du Vin Suisse: Cave St-Pierre in Chamosonis the 2020 winery of the year

3071 wines – the third highest number ever – were submitted for the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse (GPVS) 2020 edition that was so adversely affected by the Covid-19 crisis. In a competition characterised by very high quality levels, Cave St-Pierre in Chamoson (VS) took away the coveted title of ‘2020 winery of the year’. Nadia and Diego Mathier in Salgesch, record winners at the GPVS competition over the years, have also once again made waves with wins in three of the 13 categories.

Tribute to Sue Style

It is with sadness that we have learned of the death of Sue Style, author of the recent book on Switzerland entitled "The Landscape of Swiss Wine". Sue Style was appreciated by the producers she attended, warm and endearing personality, she was an honest observer of the wine world.

The 2019-20 list of the 125 best winemakers designated by Gault&Millau has been published

This seventh edition of the Gault&Millau awards brings the top Swiss winemakers in the limelight beyond the Swiss borders. In addition to the list of now 125 deserving producers, the guide is enriched with two special categories that highlight the special merits of certain producers: the "rookies" and the "icons". This 2020 edition offers a number of interesting changes and nominations.

Cave de la Côte (Tolochenaz) wins Swiss Winery of the Year 2019 award at record-breaking edition

Swiss winegrowers certainly had their moment in the spotlight on October 24th. Following on from 2018's historic vintage, there were no less than 3254 wines entered in the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse 2019. Of the 544 wineries who entered, around 80 made the short list, and only 39 won awards at the Gala du Vin Suisse. La Cave de la Côte is certainly no stranger to awards ceremonies but this is the first time it has ever won the coveted title of Swiss Winery of the Year 2019.
