Lausanne Great Wine Capitals - A national partnership with Swiss Wine Promotion SA


As agreed with the City of Lausanne and the Vaud Œnotourisme association (AVOE), the management of the activities of Lausanne Great Wine Capitals will be entrusted to Swiss Wine Promotion (SWP) for the extended representation of all Swiss vineyards. A partnership agreement was signed for this purpose at the 219th Lausanne Wine Auction.



Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2021: results

The results of the 28th Concours Mondial have now been released. Although the pandemic continues and organising large-scale events remains challenging, the competition has chosen to reinvent itself in the interests of the wine industry, whilst at the same time maintaining its impeccable standards. Over nine days, more than 300 international judges took turns to taste the wines.

At this year’s Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Luxembourg from June 17 to 27, a total 10,000 wines were entered by 46 producer countries.



Virtual 2020 Awards Ceremony from the OIV

On Thursday evening, the International Organisation of Vine and Wine presented the outstanding award winners of the 2020 Edition of the OIV Awards. The laureates: authors, website creators and publishing houses presented their work rewarded by the Jury which granted a total of 19 Prizes and 10 Special Mentions to 26 books and 3 websites.

Websites make a significant entry in the OIV Awards due to the quality of the publications awarded.


Grand Prix du Vin Suisse: Cave St-Pierre in Chamosonis the 2020 winery of the year

3071 wines – the third highest number ever – were submitted for the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse (GPVS) 2020 edition that was so adversely affected by the Covid-19 crisis. In a competition characterised by very high quality levels, Cave St-Pierre in Chamoson (VS) took away the coveted title of ‘2020 winery of the year’. Nadia and Diego Mathier in Salgesch, record winners at the GPVS competition over the years, have also once again made waves with wins in three of the 13 categories.
